We received our early-career training as members of the media, and that experience has been invaluable. Most of our efforts still involve traditional public relations tools, including press releases, specific story pitches, press trips and networking with travel writers, editors, producers, radio personalities and bloggers.
At the heart of our business is our custom database of more than 4,000 journalists. We target our messages according to content, geographic region and media category. We maintain detailed notes on journalists with whom we work so each time we work with a reporter we can cater our communications to the needs of that specific journalist. Additionally, we proactively pursue leads generated through lists, newsletters and networking.
